I've thought about this. I'd prefer not to push the issue in the city of Monroe on gameday. Let sleeping dogs lie. No benefit and potential backlash from ULM when they're actually helping us.

I'm not the least bit worried about what ULM calls us at their place, where nobody's watching. Also, the sign outside said "ULM vs Louisiana"

Don't know, but the basketball and baseball teams over there get this right.

Ask Matt Sullivan that question. The university is taking the name thing very seriously now. It's bearing fruit. Many stadiums use "LA" on the scoreboard, and some networks already use "LA" and "Louisiana." Many of ESPN's announcers ignore ESPN's direction and call us Louisiana anyway, even stating publicly that they think it's ridiculous (in not so many words) that ESPN has an issue with this. Ben McDonald did during Super Regional baseball. Bob Valvano did on Twitter after the Little Rock game this year.

And Maggard said his team will address the Lafayette Leopards thing on Monday, and is vocal on Twitter already.

    It's coming together.

I think it's just semantics. Very possible they had that logo on our file at one time

No matter if this is just an "outdated logo file" issue... or a production unit ___ clown messing with us... Dr. Maggard is approaching this correctly. If this happens again... he'll have a really good path to the next level at ESPN... to have another "professional discussion" with them.

CDD, saw that on SC and heard the fine "Lafayette" win.
You are describing a situation when we lost a lead. I was wondering if there were any other instances other than Saturday when WE did so with only a few seconds remaining. Also, one minute to go is plenty of time to come back. Having 12 seconds to go after other team scores to go up two possessions is something that I never recall overcoming. I may die before I see it again. However, it happened against the right opponent on Saturday due to it being an in state game.

So that's all it took? This has been happening for years and the new AD handles it immediately? (at least we hope it's handled.) How does that reflect on the previous athletic administration leaders?

Which is the preferred logo as of today or going forward? Can someone with close ties inquire?

In fairness, we don't know that Scott did not address it. We just know that if he did, it remained his secret.

Whether it is is "handled" or not the big difference is that someone within the athletic dept. made a public statement about it and what they did. Communication!

Now I don't think the A.D. has to be the one to communicate all the time with the general public but somebody within the organization has to and that wasn't happening. I think most people can take some bad news. At least you know. It s leaving people in a vacuum that has been the problem. Good start for our new A.D.

By the way, RB just said he will have his call of the winning shot up on the KPEL website later today. He did just play it on the show which he is sitting in for Jay today due to the scheduled game in Hammond.
