Thread: "Cajun Corner" w/Bab

  1. Default Re: "Cajun Corner" w/Bab

Will we see Jack Burk this weekend?

Compared to last season's strong SLU club, how does this Lions team look in 2017?

When do you anticipate Todd Lott being cleared to throw?

I think Jack is a little banged up, I would not expect him to pitch this weekend. Just my 2 cents.

I've also heard Kennon Fontenot has locked up the LF spot... I would expect Southeastern to still have a strong team. While they don't return Jameson Fisher, they do return many strong parts to their team, and while they lost some pitching depth, we will still see a very good arm when we face them.

To go back to earlier posts about predicting the lineup, this will likely be way off but I think I'll go with:

    5 Robbins
    7 Fontenot
    4 Conrad
    DH Lott
    9 Sensley
    2 Monica
    3 Pinero
    8 Stoelke
    6 Kasuls

My first thought was Sensley in cleanup but I didn't like having 2 lefties back to back in Conrad/Sensley, but I'm not sure if Lott would be in that spot either. Had Kasuls over Antchak with the lefty/righty facing Sceroler who is a very good righty (though I get the feeling that Antchak will probably be there anyway more often than not). I think Pinero could bat higher as well as he hit for a good average last season though he stayed in the bottom half of the order most of the time. As Robe said, everything starts with Joe. So where he is in the field determines the whole lineup.

I can tell you Antchak will be the starting SS. Lott will probably not DH this Friday night but will see plenty of hitting action on the other two days. Look for Kasuls to start at 2nd and Brenn to DH on Friday.

Coach said that if Stoelke is in the lineup, he will bat 9th.

Yeah I think that is more likely. I am pretty sure Antchak will be basically the everyday SS but was trying to keep the DH open for Lott and go lefty/righty with the SS position. I know with it being a good starter we're matched with they'll tend to go towards a defensive lineup thinking it will be a close game

Monica is going to be 3/4/5 hole I would bet too.

How can we be so inept at the plate 1-9?
