Baseball needs to enforce the thirty second pitch rule when bases are empty. Batters need to be held to one time to step out of the box.
Looking at the actual scores versus game times, you'd be surprised. If I get some time I'll put the whole seasons stats in a list game by game.

Why would you even listen to Stevie P's radio broadcast when you can see the game in person at Lamson, or, stream away games on line? I haven't had to listen to his broadcast in the last few years. Thank goodness.

Exactly. No matter the actual length of the game the fact is there is a huge amount of unproductive time where coaches and players are playing a mental game rather the actual game.

If a game goes 2.5 hours I'm ok with that as long we don't have two conferences every inning and the flow of the game isn't interrupted as much.

The ump should not have to write in his little book, talk to both coaches and signal to the score keeper simply to enter a pinch runner. There has got to be a better way.

good point, that does take time. but not sure how to do it faster, as an ump, ive tried to remember and write it down later on a very few occasions, but I don't recommend trying that. that could be a recipe for disaster... because you aren't simply writing it down, you are checking to see if they have been used in the game already and are eligible to be in that spot.
the answer to that piece could be no re-entry, like baseball??

  9. UL Softball The New Experimental Softball Rules: A 'No' Vote

The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Committee recently approved new experimental rules for 2017, in an attempt to quicken games.
