Can really tell Elijah McGuire has 10 pounds on Joe Williams when up close. McGuire is a thickly built dude, stout compact frame https://t.co/UJ6jPN6obZ

I've heard a bunch of positive blurbs on Eli from practice. Hope the teams are noticing.
Houston radio guy Lance Zierlein's response to me on Eli. He is an NFL.com draft guy and I believe very good at what he does.
"Doesn't break too many tackles and I was really disappointed by his tape this year. He's got some explosive athleticism, but late rounder."
I'd agree with his assessment as far as his tape being disappointing this year (but he was hampered by injuries all season) and draft range. Running back just isn't the position it used to be, so he's going to have to really light it up in workouts and this game to move higher up than the 6th or (probably) 7th round.
The thing of it is, though, is that's where he would've gone last year had he come out early. So I hope he doesn't regret coming back for his senior year. He got his degree and the team got through some real hurdles together. Some of them self-made, but it speaks to the leadership of guys like he, Riles, and Peters that the team didn't totally collapse in on itself.
"Late rounder" I love McGuire but he should be a late rounder
Call me a homer, but I would love to see Drew throw the ball to Eli on 3rd down wheel routes and screens.
