Houston radio guy Lance Zierlein's response to me on Eli. He is an NFL.com draft guy and I believe very good at what he does.

"Doesn't break too many tackles and I was really disappointed by his tape this year. He's got some explosive athleticism, but late rounder."

I'd agree with his assessment as far as his tape being disappointing this year (but he was hampered by injuries all season) and draft range. Running back just isn't the position it used to be, so he's going to have to really light it up in workouts and this game to move higher up than the 6th or (probably) 7th round.

The thing of it is, though, is that's where he would've gone last year had he come out early. So I hope he doesn't regret coming back for his senior year. He got his degree and the team got through some real hurdles together. Some of them self-made, but it speaks to the leadership of guys like he, Riles, and Peters that the team didn't totally collapse in on itself.

Lance must think he played one year. Now, he probably saw every video from birth on Fournette.

"Late rounder" I love McGuire but he should be a late rounder

Call me a homer, but I would love to see Drew throw the ball to Eli on 3rd down wheel routes and screens.

Jake made Sean Payton aware of Eli and how he would fit in that offense and I'm sure having james Willis in the building didn't hurt either.

Yeah but he spent the last couple of years with the Saints did he not? I think people can discuss future draft picks before the Draft combine.

And? You don't think it ever came up before that? He wasn't fired when Eli was playing in the dome in December. Jake told Sean about Eli, you don't think he would ask Willis about him being that he coached here?
