After all a squad that made 31 of 37 a few weeks ago probably figured they did not need to practice them any more. In all seriousness free throw shooting at this level is mental. Handling the pressure is the key. After a couple are missed it becomes a disease that affects the whole squad. There is much more pressure on critical free throws than other plays. Plays with constant motion are instinctive with muscle memory taking over. You don't have time to think about the pressure you are under. Guys need to be mentally tougher next game and beyond to have success
--Long ago I read Dr Mathew Maltz's book -Psycho-Cybernetics---It basically talked about mental practice and how a truly enacted mental scene of a physical action could count as an actual physical application---Of course the result of this is the repetition of POSITIVE physical actions-----make 100 free throws in a row but make them on the line against A State with the crowd and the sweat and guys talking etc----I had studied self hypnosis for years off and on and had seen some very real experiments with athletes and their performances which were mostly post hypnotic suggestions based----Very interesting stuff!!!

Never implied that he wasn't wanted VO, just that as a team...we need an addition to supplement what we have. But to make note, I concur...as well as, digress.

Before we worry about bigs , we need to find guards who can defend on the perimeter, guards who can read the floor and take what is given rather than forcing everything to the rack or jacking up 3s, and a coherent half court offense, preferably one that improves our spacing and emphasizes movement away from the ball.

Boomer if you can hypnotize our guys to the point they improve their free throw shooting, I am all for it. Of course Coach Marlin will need you to wake them up so as they can get back on defense. All kidding aside, all you are trying to say is that you understand the mental aspect to that part of the game.

---Just on a quick note--to present a more realistic shooting FT situation Marlin could borrow some of Hud's noise amplification sounds----and we could put a background projection of the arena we are to play in!!! T-Bine likes that right???
