Bigger than a bowl: McGuire, four teammates to graduate

Five University of Louisiana football players will graduate here Friday afternoon, in the ballroom of a Marriott hotel more than 100 miles away from their school of choice.

For all five — quarterback Jalen Nixon, receivers Jared Johnson and Devin Scott, punter Steven Coutts and running back Elijah McGuire — it’s a big deal.

Each has his own story.

Yeah apparently he is graduating today,didnt realize he was going to graduate already. Im guessing hes gonna go to masters school for his remaining years of eligibility

Heard today that he may transfer to another school. Totally unconfirmed, but from a inside source none the less.

Hope he decides to stay another year.
