They still got 13 offensive rebounds with essentially 1 or 2 guys hitting the boards on offense and then they had numbers back on defense when we wanted to run.

Also, their guards were better with the ball and we didn't get the turnovers we forced Tech into setting up our transition.
You're are right I didn't see you come here and say you were wrong after the tech game but immediately came to say you were right after Georgia. Georgia is better than us, it was a winnable game but they are better. We just beat a team pretty easily that was way bigger and more athletic than us...Georgia is better.

WTF are you talking about? I said that our size disadvantage will bite us on certain nights, particularly against bigger more athletic teams. We overcame it by getting into transition against Tech and forcing them into 20+ turnovers. We didn't against Georgia. So what is your point?

We already have a resident d1ck around here.

Tech doesn't have anyone like Maten. They are not similar. Georgia would kill Tech, especially with the officials that we had to deal with last night.

This game will make our team grow up a little bit. My biggest complaint was Jay Wright taking a few poor shots. I'm also concerned that Stalcup and Plaisance couldn't contribute a lick.

We saw some fight out of our freshmen. They are not scared. That is a huge revelation.

I'd like to think that Stalcup can contribute. Just doesn't seem to be getting a chance.

Exactly Georgia was better, not simply because they were bigger and more athletic, they were just better..as we saw against tech...bigger and more athletic doesn't make you better. Our freshman kept it from being a blowout, very encouraging.

He looked like a boy among men last night, and I'm not talking just about size. I think he's given us some quality minutes against the some lesser teams, but he's got a long way to go. I realize Georgia guys were really good, but I need more from Stalcup.

He doesn't look like a physical player to me. He appears to not be aggressive to block shots or rebound. If you're only going to get to play a few minutes of a game, you could at least do it with a lot of effort.

This is exactly what I was alluding to. I strongly dislike bigs that refuse to bang down low. Now, he's got plenty of time to grow, and young guys a lot of times have to learn that part, but again, we need physicality down low.

Stalcup is NOT a quality D1 player.....nope, no way.

I've sat down and watched him exclusively to see what our staff might've saw in him. When he signed two years ago, they said he'd make an immediate impact on the boards and defensively. He looks lost out there. He almost reminds me of Bambi, not really agile on his feet, tends to overthink, which ultimately puts him out of position. He has a C+ baby hook, but his overall offensive game is an F. Sorry but we whiffed on this one.

It looks like he is just thinking too much, causing him to be a step slow or look hesitant. Looks like he is just doubting himself and unsure if he should go all out. Looks soft.

Can't disagree with much here. I think he was a singing based on need, not value. His size makes you think he may have been a project that Marlin and staff were willing to take on because of lack of depth in the post.

Good post players are hard to come by.

We might want to give the guy a bit more than the 60 minutes or so of court time he's had so far before we decide he's a bust. I do agree he has a long way to go.
