The refs were absolutely bias. Very blatant. There were at least 3 calls on Stove that were total BS. Our guys were fouled all game long in the post. Several over the back calls that were missed (purposely).

For everyone saying our game plan was bad, I question how much you've watched this team play. Getting to the rim is how we win.

All that said, we have to make free throws. We will live at the line all year. Must make those trips count.

We shot 74% from the line which is above average. However, in the game we were in we needed to be around 90. MAT is right in that our team philosophy is to take it to the rim. We could not finish tonight but much of that was due to being fouled and not getting the call. Still, Jay and Frank had some open perimeter shots and they just had an off night. Game was lost in the first five minutes when we went 1 for 10. As usual, the team played hard the whole game but spent too much energy getting back into it. Little was left for the final minutes. I will say that Georgia did play very well defensively. They did get away with a few fouls but many of those blocked shots were not fouls. I give the Bulldogs credit for doing what they needed to do to win. We need to play better to win on Saturday. Hopefully there will be lots of Cajun fans there to help them get energized.

Washington had 18 rebounds. Bartley had 11. We were only outrebounded 46-40. We shot 73% from the line. We did not lose on the boards or at the line. We lost shooting. Some was just misses, some was forcing up shots, some was the fact that Georgia's bigs are good, plus SEC officials were not calling any fouls against Georgia for body contact fouls when they were blocking shots. I lost count of how many times we reached the rim, only to be knocked to the floor on a missed layup or blocked shot, with no foul being called.

We got nothing from Wright tonight, Stove was ineffective, and we got little from the bench. Miller scored well but did not shoot well and still has problems rebounding.

That being said, we should have changed tactics as soon as we knew that we were not going to score by getting to the rim.

But in less than 10 minutes, it was clear that winning this way wasn't going to happen tonight. No adjustment was made. Not going up stronger. Not shooting outside. Not slowing it down. Nothing.

Hey that's our style win or lose is how swac teams try to run with #1 seeds and hang their hats on staying close for 10 minutes.

We didn't even stay close for 10 minutes.

Proud of the effort, though. This team is fun to watch and can make some noise for sure.

Going to be a fun ride.

The basics of basketball tell you to get to the rim. We did it tonight. And this team usually does it well. UGA just happened to have 2 monsters playing down low. I do wish we would have adjusted and tried to play more of an outside game. But at the same time, how do you tell your guys to scratch everything and start settling for jump shots? I'm not upset with this loss at all. Our guys competed. If we would have played better in those first 10 minutes, we could be looking at a different outcome.

Completely agree. This was an even game outside of the first few minutes when we couldn't throw it in the ocean. A neutral court and neutral officials would have helped too.

I think our lack of size in the front court was the difference, something that has concerned me since the preseason. We will struggle with teams that have good bigs.

I loved the effort the team showed in getting back in the game, cutting the lead to 2, but you could see that the energy had been pretty much used up to get to that point and Georgia immediately went on a 7-0 run and that was that.

This. I kept asking why we weren't playing with that pace that we played with against Tech which was trying to get more into transition and neutralize the size advantage they had on us. I found that we were too willing to play a slower half court game which benefited them.

Other than that, the game went kind of like I figured. I've been saying that our lack of size will hurt us against teams like this who have big athletic guys down low and their guards were rangy as well and they gave Bartley and even Jay Wright a lot of trouble.

So, as our rebounding goes so do we I believe and we got outrebounded by a decent SEC team. This doesn't surprise me.

The drive and kick game is what we've been running with lately because of the effectiveness of Jay Wright with the ball in his hands and even Bartley for that matter. It sets up open shot when the defense has to help on the backside, however, the drive and kick game is neutralized a bit when the defender is just as quick as you and bigger and doesn't require the same help defense that other teams will have to commit to and that was a big factor.

Bryce getting those two early fouls absolutely killed us. He's a central part of our offense and we had to take him out the game for a long period there and the execution just wasn't the same.

I don't feel any different about our chances moving forward after this game. I still think we are going to give people fits and be a factor in the conference race. Our opponent had more to do with this loss than our talent or coaching.

We were trying to drive and create fouls to soften them up on the inside. Our outside shot wasn't falling except for Miller so we tried to create some higher percentage shots.

What? We went up strong in the lane all night. They had two good shot blockers waiting for us and they had career nights because we attacked the rim all night.

First, we did slow it down which was to our detriment. We are one of the highest scoring teams in the country. You don't do that playing at a slow pace. They are not a high scoring team. You try to insert your will more than them and get them out of their comfort zone by raising the pace.

We gave up 13 offensive rebounds and most of those were turned into points. When we held them to under 40% shooting and less than 30% from 3pt in the first half, those rebounds directly affected the game.

Latech was bigger and more athletic and we won. Georgia was bigger and more athletic and we didn't. If you you say something over and over and it will eventually happen. We will win some games because of our smaller lineup and we will lose some games because of it. It's not like we would go 34-0 if we were big and athletic. Bryce sitting down in the first 90 seconds basically threw the gameplan out the window, To expect a team this young and inexperienced to overcome that on the road at an SEC school with 2 all conference players is asking a little much. I agree this game didn't change what I think they can do moving forward.

You didn't see what I said. Both teams were bigger and more athletic than we were. The difference was our ability to get into transition against Tech. Georgia was NOT letting us do this as they were dropping 3 guys back when the shot was released. They still got 13 offensive rebounds with essentially 1 or 2 guys hitting the boards on offense and then they had numbers back on defense when we wanted to run.

Also, their guards were better with the ball and we didn't get the turnovers we forced Tech into setting up our transition.

Georgia has better players than tech. We played tech at home. We couldn't buy a call or a shot for the first 10 minutes. Pretty much the bottom line. I still like this team.
