There is no RCAF requirement for 2017 but we have been warned for the 2018 season. However your required contribution to RCAF will be based on which seats you purchase. I seriously doubt you are gonna be able to stay in grandstand seats for a 100 dollar RCAF donation in 2018.
There are many other stakeholders in a program other than just season ticket holders. Interested to know what other options may have been considered. Raising ticket prices is only a short term fix. We cannot fund everything that the program needs to move forward without a lot more involvement from man more sources
And that's the problem, many other stake holders sitting around me getting what I get for nothing. How about all 2200 RCAF members just say f it and drop out? I mean what do you really get from it? So why should the same 2200 people keep paying extra for everything? I'm not rich, I probably give more than I should. What if tomorrow we all went away and our budget was reduced by 7-8 million immediately? We need more people paying into RCAF...not the people already paying RCAF to keep paying more.
Your ratianale doesn't solve the problem and it is not what I suggested at all. Ok so we join RCAF to keep our tickets. Great for the short term. But what happens next? You can't keep coming back to the same people for more money. It is a bandaid for a larger issue. I don't have an answer because I am not involved in any decision making processes for athletics, but at least communicate with the fan base what other options are being considered for future revenue growth
What other stakeholders are there besides the season ticket holders? That's your backbone of the entire program!
I think every season ticket holder for every UL sport should be required to be a RCAF member. How much depends on your seat location.
WBB can just be minimum of $100
MBB minimum of $100, better seats $250, Courtside $500
Baseball bleachers $100, grandstand $250, section right behind home $500, suites $1000
Football can be done many ways.
There isn't a major University (sports wise) in the country that doesn't require donations to an excellence fund/ foundation etc. in order to purchase high demand tickets. Considering baseball is the one and only sport at UL to ever sell out of season tickets I think they qualify.
No it isn't short term, it's revenue you can count on based on your season ticket sales. You take that money and invest it into growth, better facilities, keeping good coaches, recruiting budgets which gets you better teams and players, more winning, more season ticket holders, which is more money. You can invest it in production equipment, branding etc...it's a business..no different than any other business in that it takes money to make money. How do businesses grow? With the money they get from their consumers pocket. In order for you to continue to sell a good product you have to maximize your dollars so you can keep reinvesting in your company and making a better product. Otherwise you die on the vine because you are producing a ____y product and you go out of business. Until we can have student fees this is the only way to progress..the only shot at even catching up much less moving past people. Winning consistently and winning big takes money. 20$ a month from everyone and we increase our budget 2 million a year overnight.
