Thread: Tigue reseating

If it were up to "some" we'd be dropping into the Southland.

It's a disgrace that we only have 2279 RCAF members.

You should not be allowed any type of season ticket without being a member of the RCAF, sorry this is just how it has to be. With money, success follows....we continue building facilities, lure better coaches/keep good coaches, get more recruits, win more games, get to a better conference.

Well let's see. You have no season ticket now (we were sold out) and now you make a donation and buy a season ticket because someone didn't make a donation. Think that is a Johnny come lately

You would be very hard pressed to find any MAJOR college sports program that does not require you to contribute to an athletic foundation/excellence fund of some sort. This really shouldn't be all that surprising.

Also keep in mind that general contributions to athletic funds are tax deductible. Tickets are not. It is a way for the Universities to get their money and still provide an incentive to the purchaser. That is one of the primary reasons you see the contribution requirements ending up higher than the actual ticket prices in many instances.

They don't. I'm pretty sure the overhang planned will cover the 30' walkway being built behind the bleachers. I don't think you'll see an overhang like the main grandstand until they replace the existing bleachers and extend the new grandstand.

Excellence fund went up $10.00 but was offset by ticket prices going down a little.

No actually there are a lot of people/companies looking for more. If more come available, I know I'd buy at least 4 more through my company and 2 more for my kids because they are too old now to slide in on my hip.

Hardly different from any other serious athletic program.

It is better for them to raise the Excellence Fund rather than the ticket price. The Excellence Fund is tax deductible, the ticket cost is not.

You are given the choice to join RCAF and buy your seats, it is not other people problem to make sure you can afford you entertainment, that's your job. A Johnny come lately would be if you called and asked why you didn't get to renew your tickets and they said "sorry but we sold your tickets to someone else because they donated more" It's the universities job to get max value for their product not make sure that each person is never priced out. There may come a time where I have to reduce my tickets but that will be my problem, not theirs. If I have to reduce my tickets to make sure I'm watching a quality product in a quality facility and we can retain quality coaches I'm fine with that. If you have first refusal, there is no Johnny come lately.

I have one season ticket in the bleachers. Was considering moving into the grandstand and adding another ticket. Seeing the prices I will just add another bleacher seat and continue to enjoy the greatest college baseball atmosphere in the country.
