It's because we haven't been great for a really long time. This year the SBC has some outstanding teams. If we and they keep playing well many will come to see two outstanding teams slug it out.

I agree we should see improved crowds when we get into conference play once the new year rolls around. However, we need to at least split the Arkansas road trip in order for that to happen initially. That opens conference play on Dec. 31 and Jan. 2. Also, the conference has been better in basketball the last couple of years than many care to admit. We are one of the few mid major leagues to have their champion win a first round game for two consecutive years. UTA was also a strong team last year and they are once again.
Reality: no matter how good we were since we have been in the dome, crowds for Basketball have not been much more than this (and usually much less) until like mid-January. This is actually a pretty good crowd for this time of the season. Many basketball fans consider November- December games like pre-season, even thought the games do count.
Thanks! I have no idea why copy and pasting url's do not work for me 90% of the time. I have tried so many different combinations and nothing is logical.
I have seen these for quite a while. I was in Vegas a few weeks ago and they had one of the machines in Taco Bell. Had to get me a beer with my late night combo. haha
That's a great idea. You will have a few that would not boycott this idea, but a couple of games into this and they might get the idea. They are making a ton of profit. I think labor is free because they volunteer from different schools and they get a percentage of the take. Are something in that order. I like my beer, but not the price I see some of you quoting on here. You can purchase a case of beer for what you pay for a cup at the dome. So for you that can't pass up having a beer or two, have at it. But I will pass.
I know that the concessions are manned by volunteers at Cajun Field and softball for sure, but games at the Cajundome are staffed - at least partially - by paid employees. That said, yes, the beer prices are a little high, and I don't even buy any. But you can bet they're (understandably) going to try to recoup their $30 million investment before we see any kind of meaningful drop in prices.
If a bottle of water is $5, I will literally be DYING before I would buy that. Esp when they have to have water fountains somewhere in the building.
If you make that $2, I'd buy a couple per game. That's an extra $4 you make versus ZERO. AND you are still making a TON of profit.
I almost got into a physical altercation at the Tulane football game with a Too-lame fan because his wife was upset that I was standing up and cheering for the Cajuns BETWEEN plays. She wanted the see the "action" between plays.
I decided to move over into one of the MANY, MANY available seats rather than sit down the entire game.
Some people think College sports fans should act like they are at mass.
