I just hope Tech's team shows up. There's always a chance that they find a better team to play while driving down and decide to pass on the game in Lafayette. You never know with those guys.
I watched a few minutes of a Lamar basketball game on ESPN3, crushing Austin College with attendance almost non-existent. I'm guessing Lamar coach Tic Price refuses to schedule us, but it sure seems to me that a home-home series would be of mutual benefit.
Austin College would be a suitable opponent for Panhandle State.
How about everyone drink before the games and I don't buy beer at the games. Only a matter of time before beer prices drop.
FYI, the lower level is about half full tonight....maybe.
I didn't expect a great crowd. A game against an instate rival should never be played the Saturday ending Finals as students are heading out of town back home, and the weekend before a possible bowl game, and this close to Christmas. Poor timing if you ask me.
Any game on a Saturday night that isn't a holiday or directly against another sport of ours playing an in-state rival should be a good crowd. Our fans traditionally haven't shown up until after the new year, but it's time to stop building in excuses about finals and eclipses and yadda yadda yadda. We want to hold the teams and coaches accountable, let's hold the fans accountable too. We're winning, playing a hated state rival that's good, and it's a Saturday night. Anything short of 4,500 should be considered terrible with our record when we're playing an in-state D1 team.
Of course, I say all that and I'm not there. Had to work. But this is the first game I've missed this year, and I would've been there if my gainful employment didn't depend on it.
Family obligations caught me up, but I gave my tickets to a wonderful Cajuns fan. He especially hates LTURD
Official attendance 4491......
