    UL Football Nate Cox

Well Nate Cox is the grandson of Tom Cox who was Coach Shipley's assistant. You would think that would at least open a door for him.

  2. UL Football Advertiser Athlete of the Week: St. Thomas More's Nate Cox

Cox through for an incredible six touchdowns in the Cougars' semifinal win against the University Lab Cubs, helping to send St. Thomas More to the state championship game in the Division II bracket. Cox threw for 278 yards in the performance on 16-of-24 passing.

What's the word on this guy? He threw for 6 touchdowns as STM won the state title. Are we recruiting him? Kid is 6-8 and has pretty good wheels for that size, and he can throw it pretty well too.

He doesn't fit the offense here and we saw what that did for Haack.

Plus he needs to eat his wheaties. Gain 45 pounds or more and fill out that frame. He could play somewhere if he chooses I think.

The STM coaches, except the baseball and softball coach, will discourage him from even entertaining the thought of coming to UL.

I don't know if he's any good, but on the news last night they said basketball is his sport of choice. Fball may not even be the sport he wants to focus on later.

That's what I was afraid of.

Who was the last STM scholarship player we signed? Grant Fleming in 2007? With that program as good as it is we haven't had a scholarship player come here in 10 years?
