Thread: UL's preference: Play all home baseball games at Tigue

  1. UL Baseball UL's preference: Play all home baseball games at Tigue

UL has a first choice for where it hopes to play games until a major renovation project is finished at its home baseball stadium, M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field.

And it does not involve going elsewhere.

“We’re shooting at a moving target,” she said, “so it’s impossible for us to have this plan in place yet.

“But we understand that our fans are dying to know, and we want to make sure we provide them with information as soon as possible."

I hear you Cajun90. Funny how easy this is...

The crazy thing is so many people knew there were issues. I really kind of feel sorry for him. When he did the press conference he noted how he wanted to stay behind the scenes. No problem but you better have someone who isn't behind the scenes. I could care less if we here from the new A.D. but we dang better well hear from somebody at the University in an official capacity and if that is somebody the A.D. appoints so be it.

I really have a hard time understanding the mentality that has taken over in a large portion of our business society in general that we avoid any discussions that aren't good news (sunshine pumpers).

I wanted to feel sorry for him too, until he used the line "I paid the price to be the AD here". You paid the price? I wish I could "pay the price" to make business/marketing/sports decisions for a D1 program at the height of its popularity.

People that aren't leaders shy away from attention and transparent discussion. The dude had some serious problems telling the truth. He was in CYA mode 90% of the time.

Anyway, I give Jess credit for owning her comments. Traits of a leader.

More importantly, they are making their intentions to be playing USM in the Tigue public, and that tells me a lot about their confidence in that actually happening. Even if they aren't, this is what transparency actually looks like.

I think it's an old school mentality but it has to change. The public wants transparency.

While I may not have liked all the results of Farmers tenure, I think him saying he's paid the price is fair. While I agree it seems like an awesome gig on the outside looking in, I'd imagine he missed a lot of family time between traveling for majority of road sporting events, working long hours/after hour events, Just like all of our coaches.

Take Robe for example, he's mentioned multiple times in speeches about not being able to see his son pitch in state championship game. Would you say Robe didn't pay a price just because he was leading the best team in the land and building one of the best all around programs in the country?

Obviously those 2 guys results aren't on the same level, but I would say everyone in the athletic office pays a price somewhere working the hours they do.

A lot of people pay the price and don't make %25 of $210k a year...sorry if I'm not sympathetic that Scott farmer misses family time while on a chartered flight sitting in suites at football stadiums all across the country...the man wasn't on tour in wartime...he got paid very well to be away from his family....a lot of people's jobs keep them from their family...very few are away at sporting events....a lot are on a platform in the middle of a big blue pond.

Paid the price? There is rarely a job where you don't pay a price. To lament about it is simply bush league. How many people work sixty to eighty hours every week to keep a roof over their families head, missing many important moments. Farmer also had the perks of being a big shot at UL, and for him to play the martyr is so typical of him.

I wanted to stay away from talking bad about him finally getting his due, and I did, but now he is being portrayed as some sort of self sacrificing man doing good for of all is pure BS.

I can respect yalls opinions on that.

But what about Robe? Why did y'all skip his comments?
