If it's Maggard...I really dig the hire. No ties to the state at all. With as ___ backwards as this state is...our solution is outside of it.

In my opinion... One of the biggest things he brings to the table is the fact that he was instrumental in the successful move-up of Mizzou to the SEC. He has integral knowledge of how to facilitate such a move into a new conference and can lead the charge for our athletics as a whole to get us where we want to be.
He also has ties to the Big XII since he earned his Bachelors Degree from Kansas State. I know the AAC is our stated goal, but the Big XII is in the back of our minds around here as a long term goal. I see no reason that can't happen if we have the right leadership and the economy picks up. My point being, this guy has lots of experience with everything we aspire to do as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.
Remind yourself this if you question the committee for hiring Alden's own guy.... Maggard is more than qualified for this job and at the end of the day, we went looking for Alden, he didn't come find us. His recommendation is highly valuable.
GEAUX CAJUNS!
totem pole ... more secondary sexual characteristic innuendo?
Alden is a mizzou guy who hired a mizzou guy, allegedly at this point. I am not gonna throw up a red flag yet and call this the "good ole boy network north". But if our next head ft ball coach is an assistant from the very mediocre mizzou tigers I will be very concerned that t Joe wasted a bunch of money.
