Or there was a reason he didn't play here. If he was that good, he wouldnt be splitting time with another qb at Nwst. NWST!

Thats something no one is really talking about. A Zo type runner on this team and all of a sudden we are 8-4.

Don't under estimate the QBs that have played at some FCS schools in this state. Bobby Hebert wasn't a bad QB at NWST. I'm not defending Haack. But don't act as if some of our QBs over the years wouldn't have warmed the bench at some FCS schools.

A lot of things being different could have had us 8-4. And the coaches need to be the first to know that Zo wasn't here anymore.

Sure wish they had a better plan to replace him....the thing is that there is no one in the pipeline either.

You are right, but with Zo in and all other things being equal...we don't lose to Tulane and NMST.

But if we are only dangling shiny objects to attract pure athletes, and we don't have intelligent coaches... we're paying the coaches too much. We need to spend the money on hookers and blow.
The really good dual threat QB's...don't end up here. If you can sling it and run like a gazelle...you are going to Clemson, not LA. We most likely will always end up with subpar passers who can run like a RB or you end up with a guy like Broadway or Jennings who can throw pretty good and run pretty good but aren't stellar at either...and we got both from higher profile programs. Personally I rather a really good passer who is sevicable with his legs....those are tough to come by as well.

I agree in all regards. I find it odd, however, that it used to be different. You had talented QBs at every program... even at the FCS schools. Personally, I think high school and college programs are relying so much on QBs to be running QBs that it's reducing the number of great passers. You can see the result in the NFL.

I agree, and I find it's because those superior athletes can dominate in high school simply on athletic ability and they are throwing to WR's that have 5 feet of separation and they struggle when they get to college when they have to hit that WR in 2.5 seconds with a DB on their hip. A superior athlete at QB in high school can make mediocre coaches look great.

Sorry mine was sarcasm. Brooks was a product of his hs program. He was not as good as his hs stats.
