The really good dual threat QB's...don't end up here. If you can sling it and run like a gazelle...you are going to Clemson, not LA. We most likely will always end up with subpar passers who can run like a RB or you end up with a guy like Broadway or Jennings who can throw pretty good and run pretty good but aren't stellar at either...and we got both from higher profile programs. Personally I rather a really good passer who is sevicable with his legs....those are tough to come by as well.
I agree in all regards. I find it odd, however, that it used to be different. You had talented QBs at every program... even at the FCS schools. Personally, I think high school and college programs are relying so much on QBs to be running QBs that it's reducing the number of great passers. You can see the result in the NFL.
I agree, and I find it's because those superior athletes can dominate in high school simply on athletic ability and they are throwing to WR's that have 5 feet of separation and they struggle when they get to college when they have to hit that WR in 2.5 seconds with a DB on their hip. A superior athlete at QB in high school can make mediocre coaches look great.
