Just a question and I have not seen him throw the ball, he passed for nearly 1500 yards in 2013 at Helen Cox. Do we know for sure that he is incapable of throwing the ball. I kind of wish that Coach would let him throw it once in a while to see what we have there.

He has had quite a few snaps at this point, what do you think their confidence level is in him throwing? To not attempt a single pass? I wish we would find out as well.

Bustle never let Gauthier never throw a pass either. Just because Huspeth doesn't let him throw it doesn't mean much. I don't know if Ray can or can't but relying on a coaches evaluation is risky.

From what I've seen at practice and spring it's not pretty. If HUD let Nixon sling it but won't let Ray...that should tell you something. Not saying he couldn't develope or wouldn't do it when it mattered in a game but...

He was looking really good and confident early on when he was feeling it.

Then he got hurt and was coached down.

That's why I suggested he design his own pass plays.

Injury aside, there is no substitute for confidence.

You can not convince me that Ray cant execute the play where when the ball is snapped, everyone rolls to the right and the TE delays his route and runs to the left away from everyone.

Ray runs EVERY play he is in. The defense would bite so hard in the red zone on this pass play.

I agree, I certainly think he is capable of executing something dialed up...but that's a lot different than executing as a dual threat through out an entire playbook for a season.

Dion Ray is a RB. He would be a very good one too. He needs to fill the role that Hines Ward, Antwon Randel El and Percy Hardin played during their college careers.

    I completely agree.

Just speaking of a single play that wouldn't require much decision making and would completely throw a defense off guard, even if just once.

Hopefully we don't need it against ULM and can save it for a bowl because I think it's a sure fire touchdown if done correctly at the right time.
