Mel has a valid point that he had an injury earlier but IMHO, when a play breaks down he is slow to react and he looks clumsy. Sorta like a 7 foot center with shot clock running out.

I'm glad someone said it. This is exactly how I feel about the team, specifically the offense. It has looked entirely different (in a good way) since the Georgia Southern game. I know Jennings threw three picks in the Georgia game, but I'll take those mistakes in a game where we don't play afraid to air it out over a mistake free (no picks, but also no ball thrown further than 8 yards down field) style any day. We've played loose the last few weeks and it is glaringly obvious we're better when we play loose.
Him coming back is only a win, why would you not want him in the battle all offseason? If whoever comes in beats him out you got better, if Jennings isn't here and a juco wins it in the spring do you know for sure you got better there? Or he just beat out Jordan Davis and Dion ray?
I come in peace....
You have to wait until the end of your career to apply for a 6th year, because you have no remaining redshirt years to use.
A normal medical redshirt request is processed any time because you just change a year you participated in and got hurt to a redshirt year that you still have available.
There is a 0.1% chance he gets an extra year in this case, as the only things outside of injuries that ever get granted is when a player has to leave early in the season due to family issues, and those are rare. Even in cases where the player gets hurt early in the season and misses the whole year, they deny medical redshirts if the player participated in any practices for the remainder of the year and was released by a doctor (see ULM's running back that was denied at the beginning of the season even after participating in fall camp).
Your new basketball court is really cool by the way.
Jennings being able to come back another year would be excellent. If he really wants to excel, he can work out in the off-season and get in a little better shape (drop some weight and add a little foot speed/quickness hopefully). He also needs to work on his passing mechanics. He's got every throw in him. He just, for whatever reason, lofts some passes off his back foot that I've seen him throw much better. And if Hud and the staff would get some advice on offensive play calling... ie get out of your own muscle-headed way... and keep it wide open... I'd like to see Jennings compete with the rest of the QB stable and let the chips fall where they may. He's only been with us a year. He had to pick up our play book and learn on the fly with it. And we all know that if you make a throwing mistake... Hud's nuts ascend and he reverts to running up the gut.
And for those that think Jennings was our problem this year... you are WAY off. He's no super hero... but he also couldn't make a palatable ____ sandwich out of the ____ our coaching staff served him. THEY screwed us out of a couple more wins. Those wins were there for us.
