I briefly knew a University of Memphis football player who played three years and was making a 3.8 GPA in Meteriorology, and abruptly quit because he was frustrated with losing. Then his girlfriend was pregnant and he never returned.
I think players quit and transfer from football teams all the time. With the expectations on the coach tempers probably fly and some players get unhappy for various reasons. It doesn't necessarily mean the football program is irreparably damaged.
The team must upgrade in talent. Maybe they can and we'll get back to winning.
Oh well, your loss. You have spent 2 threads making passive aggressive remarks and basically saying that TE lockeroom dysfunction is fabricated. BJ is telling you the completel opposite. It's not "blindly" agreeing with him to suggest that there is probably issues in the locker room. Actually, it's teaching to say the opposite. You can shove your respect up your ___. I have no respect for people that go against the obvious just because it doesn't fit their innocent fan boy version of the UL football program.
There are issues in every locker room. Specifically football that is what happens when you have 90-100 18-22 year olds spending that much time together. Not everyone likes everyone. Just like I don't have to like you. Hell I have seen it at the high school level on the basketball court with 10-15 kids. Do we have issues. Yes. Are they better or worse than 50% of the rest of D-1. I don't think so. Are they magnified because we are not winning like we were 2 years ago. Yes. Did Haynes deserve to be at UL No. he was not D1 talent and should not have been at UL in general. Fuse feelings are hurt because he was outplayed by better talent. And Mitchell may or may not be homesick. Only time will tell the truth.
All of the above being said. You are still a d1ck
I understand the total concern for some fans as much as I understand the "everything is fine" angle. This season has been a roller coaster ride both on and off the field from the locker room video to players leaving. But for whatever reason Mitchell left the team doesn't change the fact that this is the third person to leave in a week. Regardless of the reason, that's not a good sign. Plain and simple.
I want to be optimistic, and I hope we go to Monroe and become bowl eligible for the 5th time in 6 years. But to say that there's absolutely nothing wrong right now would be foolish. And not because of what people are saying in here on RP, but because of what I've seen on the field. Losing to the likes of Tulane, NMSU, and Idaho; getting shutout at home for the first time since 2002 on national television. Maybe this was acceptable ten years ago, but we now have waaaaaaay too many resources to settle for 6-6 in a terrible conference.
