The ending took some of the focus away from the fact Louisiana and Arkansas State flat got after each other Saturday at Cajun Field.

This is what a rivalry game looks like and this has been going on for a long time. For the life of me I do not understand why this has not been designated as such by both programs. A trophy of some type needs to be commissioned and the game needs to be marketed as such. But I digress....I think....BTW, good piece Jay....

On another note...the LB tandem of Peters and Lightfoot is the best I've seen since the early 1990's when Patrice Alexander and Charles Poole were raising Hell....Otha Peters may just be better than everyone that's come thru here....

Otha's draft stock improving. At the end he might have the best pro possibilities of anyone on the team and I mean no disrespect to the prophet.

Games that develope into rivalries do so organically. Once marketing departments get involved and try to force rivalries onto fans it feels just that...forced. I say just let this rivalry alone and it will continue to develope on its own between the players and the fans.

If ulmost drops football like the rumors state it is very logical. We compare to ark state very close

Ulmost is a forced rivalry and A-St is a natural one. Ulmost is like a Mcneese, I want to crush them but I do not look forward to the game or even feel the need to play them every year. It means more for to them than to us. Natural rivalry have extreme hate on both sides and many times mutual respect.

I always thought of rivalries as sport specific. In my time following basketball our rivalries have been LaTech, Lamar (Billy Tubbs era), UNO (Tim Floyd era), Western Kentucky, and now I'd probably say Ga State. Baseball (and probably Softball) would have to be South Alabama for the recent past. Football would have been Tech at one point (even over McNeese in my mind) and now would be Arkansas State. JMO

Cudos to all those trump voting hypocrites that showed up after being insulted by our coach. I was one. Unfortunately it was apparent, by the small attendance, not all the hypocrites have gotten pass the insults yet.

Just a little word of caution. If @coachhud tweets please come out and support our seniors on senior day. And you respond, even if I am a Trump supporting hypocrite? He will block you from following him. Way to move past this and win back your fan base coach.

A simple yes all supporters are appreciated would have been a bettter response.
