In regards to ESPN, I think most of our opposition doesn't come from Monroe. It comes from Baton Rouge.

I think ESPN isn't going to spend a cent changing the branding this academic year. When the SBC and NCAA starts sending down things under LA next year it happens.

Hopefully and hopefully they do not cave to any outside pressure.

The conference has a contract with ESPN, if the conference didn't cover protecting its members brands in that contract then they are idiots. Having the conference behind this is huge...we were never going to get anywhere until they were behind it.

I'm not saying they will change it next year, but your take on why it isn't happening mid cycle this year is spot on.

We don't need an LA logo, that is strictly for stats and tickers.

    This week's media notes:
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns® is the nickname of the University’s athletic teams. We politely ask that you refer to our athletic programs as simply “Louisiana” on rst reference, or use the any of the following: Ragin’ Cajuns or Cajuns.
    • For all electronic sports tickers and TV crawls only (e ective Nov. 1, 2016), please use “LA” as the o cial abbreviation for all athletic programs.
    • The Sun Belt Conference has made public its University Reference Guide that is used to reference each member institution’s athletic title and nicknames. The publication of the guide comes after all of the conference’s presidents and chancellors submitted their pre- ferred reference.
    • The Sun Belt Conference will begin to use these references immediately. Sun Belt mem- ber institutions and media partners are encouraged to use these references so that there is consistency across all communication platforms.
