good moderators would have put that in the smack talk bin at once, instead participate in it. the only point of that thread was to start controversy. CajunNation started a more reasoned game thread.
EXACTLY. It was meant to kick us in the nuts. From an ltu@r troll. And it was allowed, and is continued to be allowed.
But actually all they really need to do is edit his posts to reflect the correct naming scheme. In all of his can posts.
But they won't. The ltu@r trolls run that place.
Didn't know where to bring this up, so I am posting on this thread. We have actually been very inconsistent in what we put in our weekly game notes lately. Even after our "new policy" went into effect on Nov. 1, we have been inconsistent with how we post in the notes.
UL vs. Boise
PLEASE CALL US "LOUISIANA"
Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns® is the nickname of the University's athletic teams. Teams also may be referred to using shorter versions of that nickname. In most cases, Ragin' Cajuns plural is proper, though Ragin' Cajun in the singular form can apply. UL Lafayette may be used as an abbreviation to refer to the academic institution when clari cation is necessary.

Still waiting on media notes for ULM. It may be nothing but I am curious as to why we took off the "Please do not use the following in any instance: ULL, La.-Lafayette, La.-Laf., LLU, OR SIMPLY "LAFAYETTE" (not to be confused with Lafayette College in Pennsylvania)." This curiosity came after reading an Advocate article where they use the Louisiana-Lafayette name, which I could have sworn we specifically said don't use (as if that matters with them).
It may be nothing, I'm just saying.
Because telling people what not to call us gives them numerous options to call us. Leave all that ____ out, tell them only what to call us and leave it at that.
I tried very hard, I had to get rid of the fire around the fleur-de-lis as much as possible, and replace it with red.
Title in the News Star
"Bruno cedes 'Louisiana' name to Cajuns"
http://www.thenewsstar.com/story/spo...juns/94678924/
The Sun Belt Conference's decision to refer to UL Lafayette as "Louisiana" met with no protest from ULM President Nick Bruno.
The revised media reference guide released by the Sun Belt last week lists "Louisiana" as UL Lafayette's name on first reference and "LA" as its short abbreviation.
All presidents and chancellors of Sun Belt-member institutions were aware of each school's naming preferences before the guide was given final approval by the conference.
No objections were raised regarding UL Lafayette's naming preferences.
Well, in regards to to Bristol, they are SEC arse lickers, and if one tiny hair on Mr. VIP, super bigwig, mega-rich potentate from refineryville's bottom gets disturbed in any way by our name, Bristol will fall in line better than the Hitler youth.
Bristol is a cancer on sports.
