Farmer is gone, Alden is stepping in for the rehire selection and implementation of his Plan, and our name recognition by the SBC and soon national media is now moving forward. Our coaches are feeling a new invigoration, Harris is no longer under Farmer's rule and Dr. S is moving our university to new heights academically and athletically. We as alumni and fans no longer have to explain our name and can fully boast of Louisiana. It is truly a new day for Louisiana!!
    Couldn't agree more.

Note to Hud: Get the football program out of the funk, raise the level of talent and coaching, stop embarrassing the University with problems, or you will be the next high profile figure gone. Good Luck.

A win on Saturday would be a season saver IMO. There is a new buzz in town and Hudspeth needs to come through for us.

A lot of fans and Alums have wondered, me included, whether or not Dr. Savoie was committed to truly commit to excellence in Athletics. I now believe that he is...

Coach Hud talked about how much he felt for the tough time Scott Farmer and his family went through this past week. He called them good people and his body language indicated complete sincerity. Jim Harris was very somber at the press conference when the resignation was announced. While all look forward to a new leadership and many fans are excited, the people who actually work in athletics have mixed emotions. Also most players don't have the concern we do about the name issue. Point of this is the news of the week won't impact the outcome of the game much. What will is the team preparing well and focusing come Saturday. Our support can help them perhaps play harder. Hopefully we can get a few folks out there as the seniors deserve that to be the case.

I'm sure the personal feelings about Farmer inside the athletic department echo what he said in his statement. He came in to do a job then as the program continued to grow, he realized that while he wanted to do the job, it outgrew his abilities. I honestly liked Farmer and bought into his "You haven't seen nothing yet" quote his first few years. However, it was obvious that he wasn't fully into the job recently which may be due to it affecting his personal life. He helped get us to this point, now time for the next AD to get us to the next.

Change was made a couple years ago. It was very subtle, only appearing in release and game notes.

Local media here still uses ULL...I don't expect that to change. (We have a hard enough time getting them to do what we want) We've still got people who use USL...too long of a rivalry.

I think so, but fans can't be expected to understand how the University goes about its business. It is so secretive and slow in developing.

But tell us straight up......why is it tolerated on the SBC board? From the @ruston trolls?

Here is yet another example of how they run all over the SBC board: despite your friendly little 'suggestion' to refer to us UL, Louisiana or LA, the brtrans troll continues to refer to us improperly. From this morning:

"I'm pretty sure that a ULM win against ULL this week......"

It's perfectly clear to everyone, including you, that his only real purpose in posting is to call us ull, or to mention the city of Lafayette as often as possible.

So again, tell us why we cannot even expect support from the SBC mods on this...especially when the insults are coming from @ruston/cusa trolls?
