Especially with at least 5 guys transferring there in Jan.
2017 mass exodus is upon us
No we didn't. We have never had open receivers. All of our passes since Hud got here are guys out athleting the defenders for the ball. Our best passing years under Hud were mostly built around decent pass protection and/or a QB scrambling to throw the jump ball. Harry Peoples running crossing routes and making acrobatic catches was the exception. Pee wee, Lawson, and Surgent just used speed, size, athleticism, great hands. We never had WRs getting separation by getting off of jams, or schemes/routes or QB timing and intuition that opened up receivers. Accidents happened... but nothing else ever was coached to open up a receiver since Hud got here. Only pure athletic running and jumping. I expect that 75% of most pass plays. But we never have the 25% of passing completions due to routes and intelligent play design that most programs use against us.
