---We keep getting our share from the north LC area (Beauregard Parish)---you get that lil leak from a school/area and the flow kinda keeps going---I hope the influx of kids from the Catholic District schools (especially for Engineering) continues as we have unreal growth from that area!

    From the press release.

    Blake Faecher – OF – 5-11, 195, R/R – Cypress, Texas (Cy-Fair HS)

Faecher is a two-sport star at Cy-Fair High School. He earned 2016 Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American honors in 2016. Faecher has started in all three seasons for the Bobcats earning all-district honors three times. Faecher is a running back on the football team for Cy-Fair.

Quote from recruiting coordinator Jeremy Talbot: "Blake is a physically mature presence at the plate who can also affect the game on the bases with his speed. He's a gifted hitter with gap strength. Blake comes to us out of the Houston area and should be an impact player in his career at Louisiana. We feel like we have one of the better strength and speed guys out of Houston in Blake."

Savoy was 1 of 3 LA-based All Americans on the Louisville Slugger list in 2016. One other was his teammate Chance Clark who signed with LSUE, so I'm sure depending on how he develops we will get to take a look at him.

We continue to pluck the best and brightest in McNeeses back yard, I also like that they seem to recruit multi-sport athletes. It seems that this is dying in youth sports. This is why our guys can play multiple positions and have an edge to them.

Robe likes guys who were football studs. He likes the football mentality (tough/physical) translated on the diamond.

If we expect to lose a few players to the draft, would it not make sense to have a few more JUCO guys as they would be more physically mature and ready in 2018. Granted, the HS route is the best way to keep the program consistent on a long term view. We also have the spring signing period in which JUCO guys could be brought in.
