Hud's comments (haven't listened to him, but read Jack55's post) are pretty solid. He now gets it. Some folks on this site still don't get it. But Hud gets it. And that's more important to those affected by this whole snafu.

But let's not kid ourselves , had the roles been reversed and a video was released of white kids with Trump t-shirts screaming F*^% Hilary Clinton and jumping up & down, some people on this board would indeed be outraged and number of people on the UL campus would be demanding they take racial sensitivity courses. The fact that some athlete in the locker room felt the need to release that video is an indication that they felt no recourse was available to them and that is a sad statement in itself.

This was a teaching moment and opportunities were missed all around on what is supposed to be a college campus that is willing to have open debate and discussions on such matters. The head coach exacerbated the situation by attacking his supporters and that was a poor decision on his part. He doesn't have to call me and apologize, but he damn sure should call the people that gave him big money and he called friends and apologize. Some of them are sitting RCAF Board members and he should own his actions privately to those people.

As BOP stated, most of these are good kids that are simply echoing the rhetoric they are feed on and off campus, that doesn't make them thugs or criminals. There is enough forgiveness to go around, let's move on. Anyone that has decided to do differently is entitled to do so with their own money.
A better analogy would be what if the white kids were saying F Barack Hussein Obama. There would have been a riot in the locker room and those kids would have been kicked off the team immediately. The difference is folks who did not support B. Obama would not make such songs or engage in such chants.

I feel better now. Both America and UL are going to be great again!!! I just wish Hud would have said that he's going to build a social media wall... and Mexico is going to pay for it!!! That's what I told him he needed to say... but he decided to go with the apology route.

I have friends who have not missed a game all year who are not going to the Ark. State game. They are just sending a message with this step and they plan to keep their season tickets. Their beef is not with the players as they recognize youth makes mistakes. They have a problem with a coach calling them hypocrites for their political views.

Lots of positive steps taken here. However, this is all related to lessons being given to players. I believe he could have done more in regards to taking responsibility for his statement calling fans hypocrites for their political views. Again, more people are upset about that than the actual video.

Either way, I reallly couldn't care less. To all the donors out there, please ask yourself... who is really gonna hurt if you pull your donations? Coach Hud? A little. But you'll hurt this team. This athletic program. Everything we've done in the last decade. Before you stop your donations, please think about that.

If you have a copy of that song, please post it. I'm not sure until I hear it if I'll laugh or not. Is it done to a good beat?
