Stoppppp. The LA is for statistical references and ticker references. In regular conversation and on ball caps and what not it will still be UL

Step in the right direction. We are already inconsistent with all the other names. LA and Louisiana is 10000% better than UL-LAF and UL-Lafayette.
Now let's get ESPN and AP on board.

For what it's worth, the Alden Report does say to stop using UL. They say Louisiana and LARC (LA) only.

UL can still be referred to by the fans and media when speaking and on our unies while LA and Louisiana used for print and tickers. All these schools like Texas, Tennessee, Maryland, Michigan, etc pretty much do it this way.

Then I would definitely not agree with the Alden report on that issue. LARC is not something that should ever be even considered as a name alternative.

I agree, though I'm sure Alden's people were not aware of the LARC organization here. LA seems to be a compromise.
