It boils down, for me, to two things. This OL needs to learn to pass block. And you've got to stop abandoning the pass just because it fails. Our best assets need the ball thrown to them. Hud and staff need to watch more film on other programs that manage to pass block and get the time required to throw medium to deep balls. There's ways of establishing the rhythm that works.
Hud can't pretend to be disconnected from "the game plan". That's BS. He created the mindset with everyone on that offense and why they operate the way they do. He is the obstacle to a different "game plan". He needs to forget you can run the ball... get so concerned over what will work in a "passing game plan" and work it until it works. He should have been doing this all along... but it's never too late to put our program on the right track. We need to stop being a conservative ground munching offense... and become a wide open dangerous offense. Players need to get excited about making plays. I just don't see that in this offense. Riles is the only one that has an attitude no matter what. He is the linchpin of our passing attack IMO.
Just don't believe we've got anyone who can consistently separate or deliver the ball.
Fat out of shape linemen cant pass block. Simple as that.
