A few of us have been saying exactly what Foote wrote in this article... for a few years... not just once we began the obviously looming decline. You don't become prolific offensively overnight. You don't go out and snag a great QB and become dangerous overnight. Hud is way too mental over turnovers and risk laden plays. What gives this guy the impression he has the assets in this offense to play that conservatively? Only a dominating OL can afford a coach a simplified offensive approach. We are far from a dominating OL.

How can Hud know that Eli is 50% and still slam him between tackles... tackles that can't block? Is it just because he doesn't cough up the ball... Hud's greatest obsession of all time? Hud is so risk averse... it's insane. He has absolutely no hope of playing vanilla ball and beating any half decent team. We only beat suck ___ football teams. Does Hud understand that when you beat a completely ____ty team... you've accomplished nothing?

I'm 100% with Foote. We should go vertical like we've lost our minds (PS How can we have Jennings throw those stupid 20 yard balls into the flats over and over... for no gain... yet not take shots upfield? Those are terrible risky throws that never work... and Hud is fine with them?).

We have nothing whatsoever to lose. Fans can stomach taking risks to see if we can turn the tables. They will not accept playing "let's not turn over the ball" offense... and just see if Coutts can punt another 60 yarder. How stupid does a coach have to be to not see his own ___ in his face every game? Don't coaches ever get personally embarrassed over how completely intellectually vacant they appear?

I could care less if it's Jennings or Davis from here on out. I can easily see a smart coach trying to work on a future QB at this point. But in order to save a small number of fans for this program going into next year... Hud has got to stop limp dicking our offense. It's time to jump off the cliff and see if the wings hold up... or splatter like a big dog. No one likes _________ football. Be a bull and flash your damn horns. Stop being a herd of grazing cows!!! Take risks! If you take the horn and lose the fight... be a bull... and die like a bull!!!

This! It doesn't matter at this point who is playing QB. Davis can give them more mobility, but they are not going to throw the football 30 plus times a game or allow him to throw the football down the field much either. They can't just flip the switch this late in the season and change their personality.

Tulane, NMSU, app, Idaho, the defense played well enough to win them all.

The defense has played well all year and it is a shame but they, too , were ineffective last night. Not one sack and only 1 play for a loss will not cut it. We hardly blitzed at all and that QB may be the best in this league and we can't rush 4 and sit back in a cover 3 and expect to have success. We sat back in comfy zones all night and he picked us apart. Our coaches have had their moments of this type of gameplan all year and then have seemed to adjust and start mixing some man and/or some aggressive blitzes that have worked. We lead the league in sacks and didn't get one last night and we really didn't seem interested in applying that pressure to the QB in fear of him beating us long. Coaches hurt us on defense last night too.

The defense has played well enough after the Boise State game to win.

They made some big stops when they needed to until they wore down late in the game. That offense averaged over 40 points a game the last few weeks. Holding them to 23 points was enough to win last night. That wasn't App. States defense we were playing against last night.

You are right but that QB we played against is better and you can't expect to do much without getting pressure on him. While the total points were certainly respectable, we couldn't get them off the field on 3rd downs either and that helped wear us down. Problem is that I don't think the coaches or offense would have known what to do with the extra possessions anyhow.

Jet sweep to short side of field.

Our defense has been solid all year...good enough for use to be 7-1 with a potent offense.

True. It's a shame. Our D isn't overwhelming... but they are creating plays enough to keep us in every game. But our offense... is anemic.

Every defense we play looks like the BAMA defense
