OK, my thoughts. The running game is not there for obvious reasons. And the QB (if that's what you call him) and receivers are not on the same page. Hell not even in the same book. I was looking close at Idaho's def. backs. They had the field covered like a blanket. One play I liked was the receiver over the middle for 10 yards and wide open only to have it thrown to him behind his back.....like I said, not even in the same book.......

Great, if we can only get them through the gates at Cajun Field. From the band section to the visitors section it should be full of UL students. It's been my opinion that even an undefeated season will not alter the course of student attendance. I will take the bashing but it will not alter my opinion.

Note to HUD and Munoz, the running game which is what you are trying to build your entire offense around is not working. There are reasons for this but even those reasons are not as important as the FACT that we've now had 8 games to realize that we will not run the ball effectively against any team that even resembles having average collegiate athletes on defense. So, quit pounding the ball up the damned middle. It's not working. There is a large enough sample size to realize that the power running game is not our cow bell. We have already run our top RB into the ground and he is now injured moving forward and is unlikely to be 100% at any point remaining this season.

Our line has showed that they cannot open holes up and teams are moving their safeties up closer and closer to the line since we are becoming a decreasingly less potent team through the air deep. And, when we do have success in the air deep like last night on our first drive, we don't attempt it consistently enough to maintain the threat.

To the coaches, I honestly don't care if we make some mistakes through the air if we are actually attacking the defense and I would assume that many fans would feel the same way. We will have some successes to go along with those failures and at least we would be showing that we are trying to attack and defeat our opponent rather than outlast them.

This is embarrassing and we simply were outplayed last night. Idaho was a better team even though they sported an undersized average defense at best and we allowed them to look like Alabama.

Not sure why everyone keeps complaining about the lack of students at the games. They have to watch the same crap we have to at Cajun Field. Start putting a good product on the field and then the admin and us can _____ about them not showing up.

And a good product has not been seen in a long time. I don't consider our NO bowl years a good product either. We weren't really that good then, just a bunch of luck in our favor.

Thanks, at least someone can use common sense. People still complaining about student attendance. Frenchie even dared say "it wouldn't improve even with an undefeated season". Thats a bunch of bulls___ and you know it. I'm usually the type to actually encourage people to come out to the game and when we are there question them if they are leaving. But I can't blame em for not showing up or leaving. Especially after app state then this. We come to see a product, it is not there.

The offensive line is overweight and out of shape and can't (or won't) block. Fortunately overweight and out of shape can be fixed but not right away. A good coach can teach blocking. If the offensive line was better the running game and quarterback play would be better.

Correct. We are not going to accomplish any season ending goals this year. We aren't going to get bowl eligible. What I'd like us to do is work on something other than pounding the pill inside. We know how to do it... we just don't do it well. I could seriously go on a rant right now as to why our OL can't run block... but I'll save it. Surely someone close enough to the UL football program can help us in the offseason with diet and proper fitness training... and stop thinking that a tub of lard and gravity are something to brag about.

Our program needs to learn through Saturday work on how to pass block and fling the ball. In fact, if Eli isn't injured enough to remove from the lineup... I'd take him out of the backfield and put in the slot. I'd try much harder to get the ball to guys in space. And from my latest observations of Jennings... I'd throw Davis into the mix right now. Let him make some mistakes on the road to learning. I don't care if he makes mistakes over and over. School is in session.

I'm not blaming Jennings for our overall anemic offense... but since he's not overcoming the obstacles and making great plays... and he's out next year anyway... let the fans see if Davis is better or worse. I want extreme experimentation at this point. And when I say "see if Davis is better or worse"... I'm not talking about running the football. Let him air it out. Damn the mistakes. Damn the turnovers. He'll run plenty of times... mostly excellent times to run... when he starts seeing how passing opens up the run.

This is embarrassing. It's embarrassing because it's inexcusable. Hud needs to climb down off the Lafayette rock star pedestal... and try a much different approach. I don't care what approach he tries... as long as it doesn't resemble anything he currently likes to do. And as long as he's scared ____less on every offensive play we attempt... then I'm ok with the plan. But pushing a little gimpy RB into a pile of lard 2/3 of a game... no more please.

It's hard to change a losing culture. This would take several outstanding seasons to alter students atmosphere. Plus improvement in scheduling.

absolutely. I'm a student at UL if some of you didn't already know and I try and get people to go to the games all the time but even for homecoming it is hard to get people psyched about playing Idaho on homecoming vs watching the lsu-bama game or doing just about anything else lafayette has to offer. 1. We need to "win" above anything else 2. Then if we are winning scheduling improvements come into play and can help generate more students and overall attendance 3. Have the coaches & athletes actively become involved on campus (not only at a pep rally for older people) no offense but students don't care about going period. Have Hud and some players ride around campus and get INVOLVED.

I guess I was thinking more of Hud's career here as a whole, we started to take off but....
