700 missed at bats in practice.
Live at bats. Tough to do in a cage bro
FFS
I'm sure it is. But it could also be a liability issue for the host facility. Not all of these at bats were lost bc of construction. There were several pitchers shut down this fall due to worlkload issues from the summer
I'm sure there are some liability considerations, but at the same time for fan day, old players come back and face our pitchers, but never a pitcher coming back to face our hitters.
Problem is, find me a guy on the street that can throw more than 3 outs of quality pitching. So who are you going to have come pitch? I don't know if you have thrown a baseball as hard as you can several times lately, but your arm begins to hurt before long, especially when it is not in shape. So even former players probably couldn't or wouldn't do it. It's not the same as getting a field manager to catch bull pens. So it's a tough issue to figure out.
