I also don't think you need to accommodate 4K. Tickets sold and actual attendance are two different things and for a number of years now our attendance has been based on tickets sold. Most other schools do the same. I think you will have fewer people making the trek over to Fabacher for a number of reasons. If you can accommodate 3K I believe it would be okay. I can envision it being general admission for games over there and if they run out of seats its standing room only. We've dealt with SRO at the Tigue before as well.

If this is the route taken be prepared because getting in and out of parking will be a nightmare. Arrive early and leave late.
Cajun90, that is why I used the 3,000 number. There were many games were UL reported tickets sold, but 3,000 or less was the actual number. If they can find a way to accommodate season ticket holders bringing more bleachers, it's something we can all live with to get the constructions completed. How they work out the details on the actual cost of season tickets for the games will be an entirely different matter.

I'm good with paying normal price for my tickets at fabacher, charging full price for tickets and telling me my home series is in New Orleans, Hammond or lake Charles is a problem....not so much a problem as it is just wrong. Farmer phqd this up, we shouldn't have to literally pay for it.

I am with you on this scenario.

I can agree with that. It just isn't feasible for me to drive a couple of hours for a "home" game. Not to mention the additional expense involved.

I understand why people don't want to pay for something that isn't up to expectations (outfield bleachers seats vs. chairbacks at the new Tigue) but the flip side of that is it will only end up hurting the baseball program. For that reason I would be ok with paying regular price for season tickets IF we have some type of accommodation in Lafayette.

Something else they should consider is free streaming on RaginCajuns.com for the games at Fabacher.

That's a good idea on the free streaming. Hopefully they've thought of things like this to help accommodate fans that still want to watch but won't be able to necessarily get in

I'm glad we've finally got some constructive discussion going on now about Fabacher. I say let's do all we can to AT LEAST keep our team playing IN OUR HOMETOWN. I agree that paying full price for season tickets with a few months at Fabacher is okay with me... as long as we don't have to drive over an hour away for "home games"... I'd be happy.

I took a few minutes to draw up a diagram based on what I believe would be feasible for Fabacher. This takes the exact size bleachers (10 row bleachers seating 100 each) that are already in place down the 1st base lines and with photoshop, I duplicated them and pasted them in the empty spots beyond the outfield fence that they would fit. I also marked off potential parking that wouldn't intrude on the maintained soccer fields. I think we need to make a push for our administration to strongly consider Fabacher and make it work for our fans. Let's at least keep our home games in town. I know our fans will make the environment fun as well. Imagine the entire field being surrounded by our fans... this would be pretty cool. Also, there's actually a "Party Deck" that is over the Right Field fence at the foul pole. That adds some standing room.

See my diagram below, this would effectively add 1,600 seats and bring Fabacher capacity to 3,000. Add in Standing Room Only tickets, and we can fit a few hundred more I'm sure:
