I would love to see Dison and Andrews guarding the perimeter shutting down the opposing team's guards. Also getting Gary back will help the defense as he is a pretty good defender and a hustle player.

The obstacles going into next season will be the following...

1) Can LaRyan Gary be a shell of his former self after the knee injury.

2) You lose Tyren Johnson, Willie Lago, Lamar Roberson. With Tyren you will be replacing the best player in the league...

3) The league will be much better....

4) Can you count on Grandigo to be the main cog in your offense, due to his inconsistency

5) Will Wallace return?

6) Will you have any threat to score the ball on the block....

1. Gary is going to have a tough time returning to his original form. It's a shame because I thought he was the most valuable player last season.

2. Losing Johnson will be tough. Roberson has come on in the past few games and is showing some of his potential. Lago has been largely inconsistent throughout his career. The incoming signees, McDougald and Reese, will help ease the lose of Roberson and Lago.

3. Western Kentucky loses Slaughter and Evans and has no one else on the roster to replace them next season. Middle Tennessee loses its best player in Desmond Yates. Troy loses a lot in Hazzard, Vogler and Delk. North Texas loses a big body in Tramiel and doesn't have much depth right now. The Cajuns, FAU, South Alabama, Arkansas State and Denver will return some talent, but the league could be wide-open again in 2010-11.

4. Gradnigo plays better when lined up with another consistent scoring option. With Johnson gone, I think you need someone else besides Daigle (due to his inconsistency as a shooter) as your No. 2 guy. Bureau could return to the No. 2 option. Keep an eye on McDougald. Remember that the Cajuns can still add a few recruits in the spring.

5. I hope he is back, but there are plenty of reasons for him to move on. (Have his degree, have to deal with a new coach, etc.)

6. Mitchell has shown that he can score when he gets good position and uses his body the right way. He's still lacking consistency as a defender and rebounder, but all of the skills are there for him to be an all-conference player in time. A strong offseason will go a long way for his development.

Right now we have 8 guys returning if Daigle, Dison, and Gary all get their last year back and are healthy.

This is not including the 2 early signee's we have coming in.

I believe basketball usually gives out 12 scholarships so we should have 2 more to give out. We signed to big guards in 3 star SG Keith McDougal 6-2 195 and PG Jeffery Reese 6-4 170. I would go out and get a SF to redshirt who can score to replace Gradnigo and Bureau after next season. Also we desperately need a PF who can rebound the ball, either a HS prospect who can step in or a JUCO.

McDougald is a combo guard with a physical frame. He has to improve his consistency as shooter but is a definite talent.

Reese can play both guard spots and small forward. He is more of a defensive stopper than anything, but his offensive game is improving. On the offensive end, he is a slasher with the ability to hit shots from the perimeter.

A likely option would be to add a junior college big man to contribute immediately, but that's much easier said than done.
