My kids like the mascot......pretty sure the primary audience for a dude dressed into a cartoon like costume is kids, not adults.
that said........
Cost of creating the pepper was crazy. At what point did anyone say "this is stupid".

They flashed the best mascots or nicknames of the conference on the screen of the Troy - Lamon game---yes we won--but were Louisiana - Lafayette!!! I used to work out during the Summer with my former High School teammate Pat Screen---we would talk about all kinds of things and the Ragin' Cajun nickname came up and he thought it was crazy---I disagreed---I was correct!!!!~
The Fluer De Lis is so passe. It's being beaten into the ground by now. I'm all for something different. I know it's part of our heritage...but honestly it means very little to us. I say scrap it and leave it to be used on Ed Hardy shirts and women's home decorations. Because that is the majority of where it is used.
Has the pepper been officially phased out as a marketing symbol for Ragin Cajun athletics? I am seeing all fleur de lis and no pepper lately. I hope this means we will never see the pepper again.
Yes.
The Pepper has been cooked.
If the pepper is gone, how do we put a FDL running around in the stand and on the field?
The all red and white fleur de lis on the poster schedule looks good.
Yea we need phase out the one we have now with the yellow flames.
Yep. Make it easier and cheaper for clothing manufacturers to produce product. Less colors, less cost. Standardize on all consumer athletic gear as either Louisiana Ragin Cajuns, Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns, or Ragin Cajuns. Forget all the "University of" when you have to add the "Lafayette" to it and you'll sell a lot more. JMO
