I didn't bring up money, you did. Respect is not earned by getting crushed by anyone, you build a winner which allows you to recruit the athletes you need to then schedule P5 and compete or win. What kind if players you think you are gonna get when they see you lose 140+ to 20 over the course of 3 P5 games and finish 6-6 or 7-5? Georgia southern, app state, ndsu all dominated their level of competition for years, which turned them into dominant programs...and then they got players that allowed them to compete with the big boys. You will never get those players by just scheduling...you have to produce. Under HUD nothing tells me otherwise that if he had played 6 more P5's that he would have won..more likely we would have 1 or 2 moral victories and 4 'more face crushings. Please show me any school that your model has worked for? At least I have examples. Players like to win, fans like to win. As "soft" as any schedule we could have, you don't think our program would benefit from going 11-1? More than going 6-6 or 7-5 with a ULM schedule? You have to build a program, not a team...a program.
