"Has shown versatility, especially in the passing game as a receiver, but has been primarily a workhorse running back at McDonogh 35. Henderson committed to Utah in October, 2012, where his brother stars as a kick and punt returner. Henderson earned that honor again (11/13/2012) after racking-up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns to go along with his 53 rushing yards and a 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Also earned a spot on the All-New Orleans Area large schools team as a return specialist and All-District 9-4A team as a running back (12/15/2012). One of the fastest players in the state, Henderson is a threat every time he touches the ball. Once on the next level, Henderson could make an immediate impact in the return game. He grades out well as a wide receiver, but he has the skill set to play corner if coached into the position. He is a very solid football player and the style of play in the PAC-12 Conference fits him well."

Who cares about a fence? Go out and get the best players regardless of where they are from.

This year the LA crop was not one of it's best. The next year or two will have great LA classes so we'll need to hit the state strong next year.

That will not hurt this year, but over time if our coaches do not develop relationships with instate high school coaches, then we might get burned later as quality players are directed elsewhere.

Also, it is much cheaper financially to provide scholarships to instate students.

We do need more local kids. Shame on the HS coaches in the area for not pushing their quality eligible players to come to UL. Why do you think the HS coaches have (generally) done such a terrible job of helping these kids see the merits of playing in front of friends and family?

For the top players, it has NOTHING to do with family and firends. Just saying.

You guys clamoring for local kids are ridiculous. This years class was not loaded with instate talent. If we eventually have a 10 win season because of this class will you still complain that Florida kids got us there? Some of you are a frickin joke.

Local is a great way to slowly raise attendance, but if the team is no good after the local player graduates the rise amounts to a four year blip.

Bottom line is you always take the best player available, all the while hoping that local high schools can produce that best player.

The current class is great.

However The issue is "not if we recruited them" but "those that we recruited from LA and got away" - that is the real issue. Here is a few:
Tre'vel Dix, Christopher Robinson, Duke Riley, Josh Boutee, Hakim Gray, Ryan Hoefield, Darian Claiborne, Shelby Christie, Deondre Skinner, Kieron Williams, Kaleb Blanchard, Lethan Carter, Carols Henderson, X Zavier Preston, Jermaine Atoinne . we extended offers, but they went elsewhere.
