This is the gap we have to close in recruiting
First of all, I agree these rankings have a lot of room for error and it's far from an exact science. However, in Boise's case, you have to take into consideration their SOS. In 2009, their strength of schedule finished up ranking #96. They have to get up for a couple of regular season games per year and I suspect the results would be a lot different if they had to play in the SEC, Big 12, etc.
Well, if you look on Scout, you will find different ranks if you go to Scout or Espn. We have more than 1 3 star recruit. Rivals is less than accurate on their updates. There is no way that Troy and FIU have 10 3 star commits per each class. Almost all of the other services gave them 2-3. I know troy brought in a 4 star WR and WKU was supposed to have a 4 star QB who was interestingly dropped to a 2 star on Scout when he signed.
Scout has the UL class ranked at 108 and they are credited with two 3 star recruits. ULM is 109 and they have the same exact star average as UL, but signed one less player.
Also, here's an interesting article that argues why you should give credence to the star system. Depending on how you skew your statistics, I'm sure you can make an arguement for either side.

You aren't going to be specific because you have no basis for your point. Our website also didn't have us offering Aaron Spikes, Jarad Martin, Daniel Quave and countless others until they either visited or visited other places. You can't base your opinion or unfounded argument on what a website has published since this process changes daily.
