Savoie isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Academic side loves him. And that's fine, the guy is very good at running a university. The problem is, he's clueless on how to run an Atheltic department and he's employing a numbskull to do so.

False: everyone knows the opening of the APC started the slide.

The bowl games against SDSU and ECU are about the only ones that I can really think of.

I would throw Nevada in there too. I did not think we were going to win that game.

Nevada was a well played game. I'll say it was his best effort of all time. Maybe the opponent was just off that day.

I don't even have to read the article to know this is a pile of dog$*** there is no such thing as "well this one game lead to a bad next year". As with anything in life, you should never get to high or too low on these wins and losses. Youre either better than that team or you're not. That's why you lace em up

Your mental state makes a huge difference. These SBC teams have similar athletes. Attitude and coaching.

Nope. Even our bowls were all predominantly our fans and our athletes. The SDSU game was the most prominent game of stellar athletic play. Our WRs snagged everything near them. Our defense, with fans pushing them, pressured Lindley and shut down their super RB. Blaine heroically led that final drive. And Brett took advantage of a stemming penalty to edge SDSU. I do think Hud had more confidence in our players back in year 1. We played a much more balanced offense. And in our bowls, for whatever reason (probably the dominant fans and big stage) our athletes on defense rose to the occasion.

I don't recall a game that I saw us win the football coaching chess match. It just doesn't come to mind.

I think that's the rub. It has been on a steady decline, and with it goes the team.
