Wow what a new concept, putting your best athletes on the field.

Would love to see a package with Ray and Eli in the backfied Calais as a wing back deep motion behind the QB and run a triple option. But unfortunately this staff will put him in a wildcat situation and everybody in the entire stadium and on espn2/3 will know who's getting it. If spring and fall camp was any indication Ray should probably never throw it in a college football game.

----I really think that McGuire can be an effective pro slot back----Calais (don't know the extent of his injury) has looked very good and Ray, after seeing his HS videos, has me curious ----however he has not been the best tosser of what I have seen!!!

Ray should be used like Jeremy Maclin, Percy Hardin, Antwon Randle El and Hines Ward was in college. All over the field. QB, RB and WR. He is that kind of athlete.

How our coaches can't convince him to do so is beyond comprehension. He is as close as we will see to a clone of McGuire.

If what I heard is correct, Calais has a thigh bruise. He should be fine for App State. Hud is saying McGuire will be 100% as well. Not sure I believe that but I guess we will just have to see how much he plays.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Use him like Harvin at Florida..... That is if he's open to it

Sounds like he'll take over nixon's runs up the middle.

I want more than two or three plays a game. We need him in several positions on the field

Cool. Adding Ray to the offense sounds great... from hearing so much about his athleticism... I just hope it's combined with an element of creativity. I agree with Boomer that the NFL won't pay Eli to run between the tackles all game long. I thought he stayed this year under an agreement with Hud to showcase his open space skills. Even out of the backfield, Eli needs some assistance from the play callers to add some deception to his role back there. Nonetheless... it will be interesting to see what Ray does, where and when.

QB's usually do not make good WR until they quit playing QB. Staff needs to convince this kid his future is elsewhere. Getting him involved in the running game is probably the best way to make that transition. We could definitely use a spark.
