I guarantee you he was coached to look for Jamal. And many many of Haack's passes... nearly perfect... were dropped by everyone last year... and that included the rusty Jamal on numerous occasions. Regardless, Haack wasn't made for Hud. Haven't we beat this horse to death?

Thanks, Jalen. Your efforts and contribution to the Ragin Cajun football team is much appreciated. Hated to see you get hurt. Like someone said above, you will succeed in all you do if you work as hard as you have. Praying for fast and complete healing. God Bless, Bud

Geez man, every fault of a player is coached upon him isn't it? Its as if athletes are clay that needs to be molded or a robot that needs to be programmed but they just get the wrong programming with our coaches. Right?

He didn't get a "bad wrap" with many of our fans. No one ever disliked the young man. We have had issues at the QB position... of which Nixon was an issue. I haven't heard any fan on this forum question him as an exceptional part of the team, his character, his effort, or his leadership.

But yes... it is a shame that his career here ended with injury. And I haven't heard one fan rejoice over it.
He did get a bad rap from our fans because his name was usually associated with playing out of position or "Great, we have to play Jalen now" or "We are in trouble if Jalen is our QB because he's not a natural QB". Yes, he got a bad rap, especially from the the pro Haack crowd such as yourself.

Very interesting. You clamor on and on about "we need playaction pass"... that's what Nixon needs to be successful... that's what Jennings needs to be successful. Is that their decision? Who is failing to follow your mastery of football? You wrote a dissertation on the lack of misdirection as a cause for our entire offensive failure. Do you think our athletes are making that decision? I think you have a better mind than your giving yourself credit at the moment. You know damn well this play orchestration... coaching... is the root failure of a multitude of individual athletic issues. And yes... before I condemn the athlete the coach recruited... the coach coached... the coach chose to put on the field... the coach chose to place in a particular position... the coach yanked to the sideline following a play failure... I am going to question the coach.

You place Haack's failures on Haack. But anything describing Nixon's play is "fans giving him a bad wrap". Are we giving the other QBs that are not on the field a "bad wrap"? I'm pretty certain none of them belong on the field ahead of Jennings. Is that me giving them a "bad wrap". Heck, I actually pitched for Nixon being on the field as a RB. Oh geez man... so did Coach Hudspeth... before Nixon got injured and could not get into the lineup as a RB in time to be a RB for this season. So... did Hud give Nixon a "bad wrap" too?

I'm also a pro Jennings guy right now. If Hud sticks Gunner on the field and I state that I don't think Gunner should be playing right now... am I giving Gunner a "bad wrap"? BS This forum looks at the talent on and off the sidelines... and comments on whether we think we are playing the best athletes in the right positions. And that's giving them a "bad wrap"?

You're painting yourself in a corner. I'm pretty certain by your definition... you're not far away from giving one of our athletes a "bad wrap". I'll show it to you when you stumble into it.

If used with our other weapons in the same fashion Dezmo was his senior year, Nixon could have been successful. In our "who knows what it is, throw something at the wall and when it doesn't stick run off tackle offense", nobody can be successful.

LOL. Are you having a meltdown? If you read into anything other than the black and white definition, you might get it. What I said was that Nixon got a bad wrap because his name was constantly associated with negativity at the QB position. I'm not saying he was the second coming of Jake but he lead us to more key wins than Haack but the only time you heard his name was with contempt when speaking about the QB position, especially when he was named the backup to Jennings. You didn't speak of his leadership abilities or anything of substance but to say that we are in bad shape if he sees the field. In other words, his talents were overlooked and underscored by the contempt people had for him at QB. I didn't back myself into any corner and I don't give a ____ if you agree or not.

We gave Jalen a hard time only because he was the coaches choice, and it never jived with what we all wanted. This guy played through all that. He even agreed to take the Running Back role before Hud felt uneasy at QB. I wish Jalen nothing but the best. But...____ I'm glad Hud doesn't have that safety blanket anymore. Now we get to see Hud's butthole pucker a bit.

Damn right Zephyr! The Haack crusaders will just keep defending him to the bitter end. It's amazing.
Just look at his stats this year. Terrible. And at the D-1aa level.
What's he supposed to do? Keep bouncing around to different programs until he finds a head coach that knows how to use him properly? lol. Or maybe he just can't find an offensive line and receivers worthy of his greatness.
"The best that never was, a wasted talent." I can see the 30 for 30 coming already
