Starting running back injured on 38-carry night
Hmmmm...I wonder why Eli is so sore? Couldn't be the coaches fault for running him up the middle a thousand times in a row.
And we had other backs that played well. Jordan Wright should have been carrying those up the middle IF they had to be run. Hoggins looked good; we have options we need to use. We got outside but when it came down to it, didn't try to get outside.
We have to do better. We are better.
"Fine" stands for expect 45 carries next week.
Here is an interesting stat for you guys. RB Carries:
McGuire: 94
Wright: 15
Hoggins: 7
Calais: 7
I did not include Jennings in the stat above because I wanted to compare the RB touches. Jennings has 44 carries.
Go one day without opening any doors and trying to walk through them....pretty much bet you'd be freakin sore as well.
Our stretch runs to the boundaries is hard to stop. We killed McNeese and South Alabama in the 2nd halfs with these runs/sweeps, but we A V O I D it like the plague vs. Toolame
We finally have a DC who looks like he has a clue. Hud needs to keep 10 feet away from that guy at all times for the rest of the year. He's got this.
As for the OC, I would LOVE to know who called the shots on the dive and drown offense we ran in the second half.
Who called those 3 dive plays after the blocked punt. If it was the OC, was he directed to do so?
I want to know if we need to keep Hud out of the gameplan meetings in addition to staying away from certain coaches.
It's for the good of the team and to keep as many players healthy as possible. That is all.
All these runs up the middle are just setting up our future opponents. Just when they least expect it, Jennings will fake the hand off and take off running with the ball
