Your buddy Brady was probably not on a football scholarship, he was on some other scholarship and played on his, but used an acedemic scholarship or something similar.

My brother attended SLU on a partial, but again D-1AA or whatever it is called can do that, D-1A can not.

He paid his own way for the RS year, and first full season, then obtained his scholarship after that. So, technically, he didn't get a full ride.

I think a "full ride" is on a yearly basis, just like academic scholarships. A partial scholarship would imply part of a semester tuition is paid, but not all of it. IMO.

Is it possible he was a football walkon and on partial scholarship in some other sport?

Turb... I think you are like me (and I will admit that I am not an expert) in that I think the coaching staff has steadily upgraded the talent level of each class as a whole each of the last 5 or 6 years. After the hole Baldwin dug for us, it has taken a while to get out of there and the last 3 classes for sure seem to be a step up. Not that prior classes haven't had some very talented players, but as a whole, this class surely seems to be the best of the Bustle era.

The moment an athlete steps of the football field or basketball court that athletes scholarship is charged to football or basketball. His partial scholarship would become a full scholarship.

Looking at who we're winning these recruiting battles with, I'm impressed (ULM, "Tha U", LSU). Good job by the coaching staff.
