Would there have been OT without -3 turnover margin? I'm betting no.

I have no dog in this fight over Huds credibility. He does things that I question as well. Our team played well, but turnovers killed us. If you didn't know points would be at a premium going in to this game, you weren't paying attention. We coulda done this, shoulda done that, but the bottom line is we have them easy points on turnovers.

We weren't -3 in the turnover margin.

I suppose where we differ is I see the 4 turnovers as the reason we lost. That wasn't on Hud. Did he call a perfect game, hell no. But the players have to execute.

I'm just back on from celebrating a niece's birthday... but to jump in on your question to Hawk... I absolutely guarantee you that I'd say the exact same things even had we inched out the win last night. You know, from my posts over the past few years, that I'm not the least bit impressed with all of our close wins over bad teams. And I wouldn't have last night's either. We are a coaching clown show with Hud as the head clown.

The only thing I'll agree with you is that Tulane has a solid inside the hash marks defense. If we knew how to stay on a blocking assignment, they were no match for our sideline to sideline speed. Our coaches didn't see that. Our coaches didn't notice what you did. They didn't see that Tulane could protect the middle like a vault door. Our coaches ran head first into that vault door. If I can't call that a bad name, I can't tell the truth. It was a coaching clown show. You're smarter than to think we just went up against a tough Tulane team. Our coaches failed our athletes. Pure and simple. Our athletes made some mistakes. And they recovered well from those mistakes. Then the coaching clown show set them up to lose.

That's like spotting someone 21 points and taking 12 right out of their mouth at home. We could have spotted 9 to start that game and spanked Tulane in regulation. We ran a coaching clown show after Jennings messed up. Our staff can't settle a team down. They can't mastermind a bunch of hard nosed sandlot Tulane football players. It was a coaching clown show. We handed a crown to Fritz and pumped life into a rag tag Tulane program. Think in detail about what you observed. It was a pathetic operation.

And no the sky is not "falling". We gave the football sky to Hud several years ago, and he lowered it to where we have to walk around our own program hunched over. Tech throttles us. And a bad Tulane team takes a win from us. But we did beat McNeese by a TD. We good.

Is a blocked punt a turnover, or a big play on special teams? They were giving us the ball after all, only expected it not to be on their three. So we had four turnovers, and they gave up a special team play and one turnover.
