Here is a plan, get Jordan Wright the ball in short yardage situations or throw to the TE. Bam! Problem solved.

We threw the ball to the TE on fourth and short against Boise without success. Of course the ball was thrown in the flat vs beyond the sticks.

Nixon is going to waste on the wrong side of the ball.

Nixon is an adequate passer in the right system. Using him in playaction, option and rollout packages can take advantage of his skills but you have to have the threat of throwing when he's in there. Hud is right and I've screamed it for a year now but everybody knows exactly what's coming when he's in the wildcat which is a run up the gut. You have to be able to throw with him and in particular, to the TE who is also forgotten in our offense. These things would open up short yardage so much more. Hopefully Hud is finally seeing this and adjusts.

Threw a playaction screen last weekend too. It looked good but the DB made a nice play on it. That's what we need to attempt more. Misdirection. Everybody is keyed up for Eli and will continue to be that way if he keeps having a lot of success. We finally started some sprint outs last weekend trying to get Calais and Eli outside and it worked. We need much more of this.

Reevaluate is code word for...more Nixon playing time.

Fourth and a yard or less, you have a big running qb named Jennings, no need to outthink yourself or your opponent with tricks. You choose to run him quick qb sneak, or the Prophet, or a quick slant.

Exactly! Bringing in Nixon does nothing for our offense, everyone knows what is coming.

    Exactly.

No way a simple zone read with Jennings and Eli doesn't get you the first down. You just have to actually let the QB read the darn play, and for some coaches that is a sin.

What happened to Nixon actually playing some at RB instead of QB?

That was scrapped when we lost a few QBs.
