This game comes down to if our offense keeps improving. I like the diversity we showed last week in the play calling, so I think it does.

If you thumbed through my attachment two posts above, there's no way they'll put up 31. Study the option, blow the pitch man up time and time again. I smell a few fumbles going our way after laying a few heavy licks on the pitch man.

Big day from Gary Haynes in this one....cross routes right behind the LB's should get it done. Expecting him to be the next 100+ guy this week.

In theory it should be easy, doesn't mean it will be. Offensively we will have to play our best game of the year. I hope I am dead wrong but I am getting a bad feeling about this one.

Correct me if I am wrong (Boomer, Bankruptcyman) but the last time we played Tulane "uptown" was Sept. 14, 1974. It was in the old Sugar Bowl. That was Augie's first year. Septien kicked 3 field goals and we led late in the game 16 - 9. Tulane got a dubious interference call late and scored last. Final 17 - 16 Tulane. We shoulda won that game.

History repeats (sort of) UL 17, Tulane 16.

Damn right we shoulda won that game. We were 40 point underdogs. Totally outplayed those yats. a couple of very questionable calls at the end of the game set up a field goal with one second left. Lamers made it to win 17-16. You played in that game DG. Some things happened before, during and after that game that I have not seen since and will never forget.

I remember the great games in the dome in the 80's when USL fans were probably 3-1 over Tulane fans. It was a fun series back then

Just noticed that the ESPN power index gives Tulane a 72% chance of winning this game. That is crazy. I'm not sure where the index comes from or how it hypothesizes these games but I've seen it before and it seemed quite accurate or at least as accurate as one can be.

Also, the Over/under line is at 47. I'd bet the under to be honest. I've noticed that some here are expecting us to put up high 30's on the board and I don't see how either team will get to that point,particularly Tulane. Their offense has no balance and our run defense has been pretty solid thus far. I think our balance on offense and defense will win this one.

I'm sticking with 77-0 UL. I'm pretty confident about it. If Hud figures out the short yardage play twist we've been missing... I am almost guaranteed of winning this week's score match.
