I'm paying $90(corp. rate) at the Drury on Poydras. But again I booked 6 months ago when Tulane confirmed the date of the game. As most fans should have done.

And we got rooms as part of a block reserved by our Alumni Association for $140 but, we did like you and did it then, not now.

Exactly. We have had plenty of time to plan for this one.

While it is correct that the game date has been planned for months, there are some fans who wanted to see if the team would progress before deciding to spend a weekend out of town. Many folks do not want to make that commitment if they do not believe there is a reasonable chance of winning the game. The way we finished last season and the performance in game one did not give people confidence there was a reasonable chance of victory here. That being said it is correct there are reasonable hotel rooms which can be booked in Metairie and Kenner. Drive into Uptown is quite easy (less than a half hour) from there.

This statement right here is what will prevent a lot of conferences from taking us seriously. We're talking about 2 hours away in a destination city and can't sell out our allotment, much less dominate the crowd, like we should do. Chance of winning should not matter.

My family had been looking forward to this game for 3 years now. What can I say? We just don't have $700 to spare on an overnight trip thanks to the economy. When it is time to tighten the belt an away UL game is a good place to start. I suspect I'm not the only one.

If that makes us all crappy fans, so be it.

This is a pretty ironic statement when you consider who we're traveling to play. Tulane averaged like 4,000/game AT HOME and still got invited to the AAC.

Tulane is a private school with great academics, in a world-class city, with an SEC history. There are other reasons they were invited.

$700? For overnight! We're staying two nights and plan to eat VERY good for less than that

I am going, but based on last year and start to this season, plus availability online, economy & flooding I understand the average fan not making the trip.

Thing is: if the average fan won't make THIS trip which one will they make?

Excuse my ignorance but why not just drive back after the game? Its only 2 hour drive to lafayette
