That's a very interesting perspective....
1938 (or before) was when the realization occurred.
1939 was when the arm of LSU was extended into "Southwestern" Louisiana.
1950 was when a "new institution" was established.
By the way 1939 didn't need a 2/3 vote and 1950 failed to garner a 2/3 vote as required by the Constitution.
Of course that didn't stop LSU's efforts, what they want they get, or so it seems. Goes back to the Baby Huey Days.
