I remember like it was yesterday Cliff Newman, the representative from Lake Charles, as the point man for anti-UL legislative actions in 1984. He was wearing a T shirt that said something to the effect of "Don't kiss your S goodbye" and with this smug "we put you in your place" look on his face. I admire when passionate people support their university but detest people who only want to put others down and obstruct the progress of others.

Bankruptcy, I believe it said, "Kiss your S hello". Either way, he is/was a tool. BTW, is he still around?

It looks like he, or maybe it is his son, if he is indeed food for maggots, is an attorney in lake charles. It appears he was booted out of office in 1987

Not sure if the LC attorney is related but I believe the one you refer to is Cliff L Newman and the douche from '84 was Clifford D Newman.

Searched but couldn't find much info on Newman specifically an obit but I'm pretty sure I read several years ago that he passed on! The douche is no more! He has ceased to be! He's expired and gone to meet his maker! He's a stiff! Bereft of life, he's pushing up the daisies! His metabolic processes are now history! He's off the twig! He's kicked the bucket, he's shuffled off his mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! CLIFF IS AN EX-PARROT!!
