Tulane has such a huge fan base they felt the need to move from the 75,000 seat Superdome to a 28,000 on campus stadium just to handle that rabid fan base!!! LMAO!!!

Oh please....the average crowd at The NO Bowl is around 30K, it spiked when you all finally made it to a Bowl game....and then peaked when Tulane appeared at 54K....It went back to a little over 30K the following year when you went back.

I realize that cause and effect aren't U-S-L strong suits, but it's pretty to simple to see the spike and why it happened...

To avoid confusion with the University of Louisiana which is located in Monroe...and to avoid advancing or perpetuating the myth that there's a flagship.

But I digress....

The Law says you must include a Clarifier...and - speaking of NON-counterfactual and NON-imaginary thinking - the law says you MAY NOT use "The University of Louisiana" without the clarifier.

I think that's both instructive and dispositive.

The nickname "Louisiana" does neither. "University of Louisiana" ok.

During WWII Cajuns were often called "Louisiana" do you think they were calling them a land mass?

"Louisiana" is an apt nickname as it was the first school not named Agricultural & Mechanical to have current students from every single Parish.

2nd largest school in the State for 77 years.

Oh...and about that 54K....YOU didn't bring that many people. There were that many people because the opponent was Tulane, who is - and I know this is going to be a shocker - actually located IN New Orleans....

It was their first Bowl game in 11 years...so...go figure that the attendance was high...
