Here is my understanding... Third tier rights belong to ESPN and they can do what they want with them. Apparently that includes subleasing them to another entity like Raycom. Based on the interview with Farmer today I don't think the commissioners office or other schools really have a grasp on that concept.
Along comes Raycom to offer a deal to ESPN3. We will provide all the resources including the talent in exchange for providing over the air broadcast for the McNeese game. ESPN3 still gets their online content but now they don't have the associated expenses of the broadcast.
So as I understand it right now any entity can negotiate with ESPN3 to broadcast any of our games (or any other SBC team since this is a conference contract) and if they do it twelve days out they have the right to dictate our kickoff time as well.
Look at the bright side.... someone wants to broadcast our games!! ;-0
I'm fine with Raycom media doing the games. Say what you want, but Brando (Timmy B) used to do those games for the ACC and I think that is an improvement over the _____ ing ASN bullcrap we have been subjected to.
Hey Scott! Upgrade to a dang 32 GB flash drive you nitty and leave the floppy behind. You are making a mockery of us. OHHHHHH but wait, we can holllllllllld the rope for the 5th year in a row, that'll really strike fear into MSU.
They're ready. The least we can do, is show the blank up. Lance should've been our DC. It's bull corn that he was never considered.
It's in your pipe. F'n smoke it.
Somebody on the LaTech boad...or maybe it was the ULM board...said they saw the pics from the game and it appeared as though many of the 22,000 in attendance were dressed as seatbacks.
Were you guys running some sort of costume promotion? Or just using the Pentaphlegm calculations to count the gate, too??
The ultimate test would be to put saturday's game at 11 am to compare the two.
